IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) is a non-profit organization which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.

Every two years IBBY gives the Hans Christian Andersen Awards (HCAA), a prestigious international award also known as the 'Nobel Prize' in children's book, to an author and an illustrator in recognition of lifelong achievements and lasting contribution to children's literature. As an avid supporter of children's literature, Nami Island has been the sponsor for this award since 2009.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about much change to our current world, and 'untact' has becomes the new norm. In hopes, however, to persevere together through these unexpected times, Nami Island has collaborated with 10 of the past HCAA illustration winners to produce one-of-a-kind scarves. These scarves will help IBBY and, further, children in need of books.
