* MOU with SEHER
Nami Island Arts & Education signed a partnership agreement with SEHER in June 2020 to diversify the cultural exchanges with India.
'SEHER,' which means 'to wake up the dawn,' was established in 1994 and is a culture and arts organization that works to allow more people to enjoy the culture of India. The Udaipur World Music Festival, Ananya Dance Festival, and ASEAN India Music Festival are highly recognized in the field of performances and exhibitions, and innovative and unique cultural events are planned and operated.
Performances by 'Beena Keum,' the first Korean Odissi trainer, and'Oh Sook-hee,' who received a PhD. 'Saraswati,' the Indian language department dance group from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies that livens the festival each year, also added excitement with an exciting Bollywood dance.
The music from the Indian stringed instrument Sitar and the clear and brilliant Handpan filled the autumn night of Metasequoia Lane.
A special exhibition of handicraft book illustrations in cooperation with'Tara Books,' India's leading picture book publishing company, was held, and a musical instrument experience docent was held at the Swing Gallery, The Song Museum along with the 'Instruments from India: Special Exhibition.‘
Various experience programs were held, including healing yoga workshops taught by Indian instructors, making Indian-style eco-bags, experiencing bindi, and coloring traditional patterns (Rangoli). Indian flavors were also presented with tandoori chicken and strawberry lassi.
